For Republicans

To all Republicans of our Nation and the 6th District:

For too long, Republicans in Massachusetts have been silent. It’s not easy to fight when the odds are long. Members of the GOP have grown accustomed to tasting defeat without even bothering to try.

But things are different now. We are starting to turn the tide, with the election of Scott Brown to US Senate and addition of 17 new state legislators in 2010. Our fellow citizens are beginning to realize that one party rule (whether Democratic or Republican) is not in the interests of our District, the Commonwealth, or America. There is an honest resurgence among the population for traditionally Republican concepts of smaller government, reduced spending, and lower taxes; particularly with unemployment at record levels and the fact of a $15Trillion debt, annual $1.5 Trillion deficits, and a $1 Trillion annual interest expense. People are starting to question decisions past made, believe more than ever that government must help business or get out of its way, and are gravely concerned for our country’s future given the current one party rule.

I laid the groundwork in 2010 to take the first Congressional seat for any Republican since 1996 when my predecessor, Peter Torkildsen, lost the seat to John Tierney. I chased Tierney around the district, and thank you for giving me more votes than any Republican in Massachusetts running for Congress than anyone (save one) since 1998. Thank you.

We can't stop now. I have a clear path to victory, and know precisely what needs to be done to finish the job. With the addition of Tewksbury, Billerica, and Andover, we have a more Republican District. And we have a dynamic action plan needed to target the extra 7% of voters we need to win in 2012!

For the past 16years, the Representative in Congress for our 6th District has had a free ride, but I have been holding him to account. Now that his wife is a convicted felon and he is avoiding his obligation to tell the truth and be transparent, people know he is no longer fit for duty. He has coasted by, a follower, not a leader, who votes with the Democratic party 99.1% of the time. Particularly with regard to taxes, he is pro-government and anti-family; he just doesn’t get it. Citizens in our district deserve a man who will vote independently, not as he is told by Nancy Pelosi.

The party is more organized now than ever, and excitement is in the air. I have a primary opponent, and leave to you to judge his qualifications or fitness to serve. I welcome him to the race to help defeat John Tierney, and I expect spirited debate as we do so. At the same time, it is my feeling that we don't need another career politician, particularly one so similar to John Tierney as his voting record shows.

Only I have the courage, commitment, and integrity to carry our banner to Washington in 2012. I pledge to bring credit to our District, our party, and our country. I sincerely welcome your support.
